It was Saturday night, a night dedicated to board gaming and Condottiere was the game we have chosen to fight over.
Objective:
The objective of the game is to gain control of three connected areas or up to five different ones.The players in order to achiev this goal use numbered cards(army). However, several special effect cards shake the contests up and keep the players guessing.

A map with regions of Italy.

-1 Condottiere token
-1 Favor of the Pope token
-36 Control markers

How to play:
A player decides which territory will held the first battle and then all players place soldiers cards in order to win that territory.The player with the greater sum of soldiers is simply the winner of the territory.

Play continues like this, with the winner of a battle choosing the site of the next one, until only one player has cards left. Then, new hands are dealt and play continues.

Condottiere is a simple game with nice mechanics and deep strategic thinking but with a disadvantage when it comes to how cards are dealt. Company, seemed to enjoyed it and begging for a re-match.
