Hanoi Rocks – Lightnin’ Bar Blues (the albums)
I received Lighting Bar Blues Box Set as a gift for my birthday from my dear friend michaleez and although I have already owned all Hanoi Rocks albums I was so excited ’cause as a fan it is always a great idea to have every little thing that comes out from your favorite band. So I grabbed that little square paper box in my hands and opened it carefully.
Inside there was a set of six CD’s with Hanoi Rocks first five albums Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks, Oriental Beat, Self Destruction Blues, Back to Mystery City, Two Steps from the Move as well as their superb live recording All Those Wasted Years. I couldn’t be happier. Each CD came in a cute paper sleeve with the original album artwork printed on and a fine booklet that covered the bands career for the period 1981-1984. The 10 pages booklet although it is well written could have been better adding more rare photos. Apart from that, it covers the biography of the band until 1984 plus a complete list of all their Albums, 7′ singles and 12′ singles including album covers.
The sound is not remastered but in the same excellent level as the original cuts. If you don’t have the original releases this is the best way to gather up all Hanoi Rocks albums – if you manage to find it, maybe on eBay.
