The Quireboys – Halfpenny Dancer Vol.1
I like the Quireboys, I like ‘em a lot. They haven’t invented rock ‘n’ roll – for sure they have not. But they are descent on what they deliver all these years and they do it with dignity. So after their latest Homewreckers & Heartbreakers album they are hitting again with a new album, actually a greatest hits that comes under the name Halfpenny Dancer. So what exactly is Halfpenny Dancer; HD, is a collection of songs but not the bands best known hit list. All songs are delivered in acoustic versions, something that for sure makes this collection different from the many collections this band has released. The thing is that Quireboys isn’t the kind of band that would blow your mind with their heavy riffing so actually acoustic versions aren’t so different from the original ones. So I won’t say that this is a must buy album, especially if you are a starter / for the bands core fans though, listen first and judge.
