Cover Art for the New Opeth Album
Opeth have released the cover for their upcoming 10th studio album, Heritage. Fan response seems to be mixed, but I gotta say I like it. Very In The Wake Of Poseidon. Nothing against their earlier, darker artwork, but I felt like slashing my wrists every time I laid eyes on the cover of Blackwater Park. Their music has gotten even less claustrophobic and more expansive since then, as they assimillated more influences and moved on from death metal into an ethereal blend of folk and vintage prog and the new artwork reflects that. Heritage is out on September 20.
