Insane rumour of the week belongs to Black Sabbath. Apparently, according to The Birmingham Mail, they are rehearsing secretly with Ozzy for a new album STOP THE PRESSES!! Sabbath are back together for a new album! Yeah, right. And KISS’ new tour is really their last, honestly and I am the legal advisor of a recently deceided African ruler and I have a financial proposition for you regarding your bank account details.

Am I the only one who is surprised Sharon Osbourne hasn’t sued anyone over this story yet?

Even Iommy seems a bit pissed- off at the rumours (I can imagine him reading the Guardian article and swearing with a Brummie accent). I don’t mean to sound too cynical (after all I have a Black Sabbath tattoo), but I really don’t have much hope for any new material from these guys. Ozzy’s last album was a corporate, boring mess and Sabbath’s last official album was 1995’s Forbidden. I went and bought it when I was a teenager. It sucked. On the other hand, Heaven And Hell were very good, so maybe I am being a bit harsch.

In any case, all these “cry wolf” news stories mean nothing at this early stage. What would be really exciting though, would be another Sabbath world tour. THAT I can get behind. I was at the Birmingham NEC for the 1997 reunion and it was a once- in- a- lifetime experience. Just look:
