the art of Shain Erin
Shain Erin, is an American surrealist/visionary artist working in a variety of media including painting, digital media and sculpture. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the San Francisco Art Institute. In recent years he has become preoccupied with Doll art!
His art doll sculptures have been shown in galleries throughout the world, including the US, Australia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Italy and Norway.
As you can see, his dolls are not the kind of ones you give to your kids for bed time. Actually, you might consider not showing them while their awake.This “toys” are definitely for much older children….like me, perhaps!
As an artist, Shain, is influenced by mythology, history, by pop culture and definitely Goth! Among his interests are entomology, reading and music. His favorites writers are Caitlin R. Keirnan, Poppy Z. Brite, Clive Barker, Poe, Lovecraft, Halrlan Ellison and many others while among his favorite genres in music is world, Gothic, alternative and industrial.
