Lord Vicar – Signs of Osiris
Lord Vicar’s debut, Fear No Pain was an excellent traditional doom record. The follow- up however is in another league altogether. I could babble on and on about the band’s heritage (when your members used to be in Reverend Bizarre and Count Raven the stakes are very high), or about the delicious riffs and psychedelic flourishes, or about how the music reminds me of old Fritz Leiber and Robert Howard stories, etc., etc. But why waste time. Just listen to this and then go buy the album:
