For The Imperium – For The Imperium

Listening to For The Imperium is like watching Jamie Oliver putting together a pie – mixing all these different ingredients on his cooking table and wondering how this fucking pie is going to taste in the end.

In the case of For The Imperium their pie is tasteful, colorful and soundful while could easily be treated as a main dish. These young guys from Finland putted out a debut album by blending different musical genres and sub-genres and the did it with mastery. Their sound is an amalgam of hardcore, metal, industrial, gothic, pop while in times there are some black metal and grind touches . They brought to mind bands from the aforementioned genres like Marylin Manson, Stubbing Westward, Metallica,Ministry, My Chemical Romance and Franc Sinatra (Until The End).

In other cases, I would have banned an album like this one due the lack of  specific musical direction but in the case of For The Imperium we are dealing with insanity and genius. Their top level of musicianship is an ace on their sleeves in order to deconstruct and rearrange.
